HOLLABACK ALBERTA STUDENT PROJECT

The Alberta branch of this international anti-street harassment movement was started by, and is still run by, my Women's Studies 201 student, Lauren Alston. I encouraged her to pursue her passion about starting an Alberta chapter in lieu of a final paper.

CONDUCTING SEXISM: MALE DOMINATION AND THE FINE ARTS

This group created a thorough and thoughtful website exploring sexism in the fine arts in Canada. They explored the dominance of men in the fields of composition and conducting in classical and contemporary concert music. For their activist component, they created this website and also interviewed staff at the ESO to try to determine why music by female composers is so rarely played.
